Colostrum
Colostrum

Colostrum is the ‘first milk’ produced by cattle in the hours following their infants birth to develop the calfs immune system and trigger growth. Subsequently it contains a multitude of growth factors that support bone, cartilage and skin health. This makes it a really potent product for exercise recovery and muscle growth. Our powder is from grass-fed cattle and is ethically sourced from the surplus left after the calf has been fully nourished.

100% Grass-Fed & Regeneratively Farmed
100% Grass-Fed & Regeneratively Farmed

All our organs come from a regenerative farm where the cattle roam freely on pasture consuming a natural diet of grass. This means our cattle graze outside for as much of the year as weather conditions allow. Also, they are completely antibiotic/hormone free and their diet contains no foods contaminated with fertilisers, pesticides or other artificial chemicals.

About the product

Her Athlete Bundle

Eating whole animals, nose-to-tail, was a way of life for humans for the majority of our existence up until recent history. In the past people believed that consuming the organ of a healthy animal would strengthen and enhance the health of their own corresponding organ. For example, if a woman was struggling with with fertility they would be fed the reproductive organs of a female animal, which were considered the most virile part. Interestingly, this is just now being validated by science. Research conducted at the University of Edinburgh in animal models has shown conclusively that when eaten, organs and glands selectively travel to the corresponding organs of the consumer in high concentrations.

Indigenous people also appreciated that animals gave their lives to ensure us as humans could survive and thrive so they left nothing go to waste. And because of their deep connection with the earth and their own bodies they intuitively knew just how nutrient dense organ meat is and would prize this over muscle meats. Fast forward to today and the immense powers of organs have somewhat been forgotten. What was once highly sought after is now rarely consumed and generally people no longer enjoy the taste. We created our nose-to-tail line to help people reintroduce these ancestral superfoods, loaded with nutrients in an easy to consume and flavourless way.

FAQs Questions

What are the main nutrients in Liver?

One serving of our Grass-Fed Liver capsules contains 371% of the RDA for vitamin B12, 163% for copper and between 10 - 40% for vitamins B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9 and minerals phosphorous and selenium.

How large are the capsules / can they be sprinkled into food?

The capsules are a medium size and we haven’t come across anyone so far that’s said they’re too big to swallow. However, if you would prefer to open them and add them to bone broth or other dishes this is absolutely fine.

What is Colostrum Powder?

Colostrum is the ‘first milk’ produced by cattle in the hours following their infants birth to develop the calfs immune system and trigger growth. Our colostrum is from grass-fed / finished cattle and is ethically sourced from the surplus left after the calf has been fully nourished. We gently spray dry the milk into a powder, which is packed with nutrients, peptides and growth factors. This makes it an incredibly potent natural supplement for immunity, lean muscle / connective tissue growth and gut health.

What are the growth factors in Colostrum?

Insulin-like Growth Factor- I & II (IGF-I & -II) - The primary growth factors in colostrum, these have been shown to build lean muscle mass, balance blood sugar and stimulate the synthesis and repair of DNA. Transforming Growth Factors Alpha & Beta (TGF-a & b) - Stimulates the growth of connective tissue, including bone / cartilage and plays a key roll in wound healing and gut repair. Having a properly formed gut wall supports digestion, immunity, neurotransmitter production and detoxification. Epithelial Growth Factor (EGF) - A primary driver in the maintenance and repair of skin, including wound healing.

Will taking your supplements break a fast?

If you are doing a water fast with zero calories, then they will break the fast, as a serving contains a very small amount of calories. However, if your fasting goals are autophagy or healing your gut microbiome, you can take the supplements without negatively impacting those goals.
