Organic MCT Oil

MCT Oil is a real food derived, rapid source of energy. Unlike other fat sources, it doesn’t need to be broken down on consumption, so is either used as an instant source of ATP energy or turned into ketones. Also C8 and C10 MCTs have been shown to have great antimicrobial properties, which means they help combat gut issues like Candida. Our MCT Oil comes in a 473ml BPA free bottle, is 100% derived from sustainably sourced organic coconuts and absolutely free of palm oil.

*Unfortunately there was an issue at our manufacturers during the last production of MCT Oil and they used a dark plastic bottle instead of our usual glass. We pride ourselves on only using glass so will return to this as soon as possible and appreciate your understanding in the meantime.

About the product

Organic MCT Oil

Our MCT Oil is 100% derived from sustainably sourced organic coconuts and contains 60% C8 (Caprylic Acid) and 40% C10 (Capric Acid) Medium Chain Triglycerides. We use absolutely no palm oil in the making of this product.

MCT Oil is odourless and flavourless, making it a great for addition to coffee, tea, smoothies, shakes or salads.

MCT Oil is one of the key ingredients in Bulletproof coffee. The reason for its inclusion is that when added to coffee the fat slows down caffeine absorption, negating the spike and crash or jitters people often feel and instead providing several hours of steadily released energy.

Also C8 and C10 MCTs have been shown to have great antimicrobial properties, which means they help combat gut issues like Candida.

Our MCT comes in a BPA free bottle to align with our environmental and social responsibility.

    When to use

Being the key ingredients in Bulletproof Coffee, MCT Oil is most often added to coffee or tea to slow down the caffeine absorption and create a time released energy effect. However, it’s also great to cook with or as an addition to salads for that extra energy boost. Remember to keep temperatures below 160 degrees celsius when cooking to ensure the oil doesn’t saturate.

FAQs Questions

Why organic MCT Oil?

Organic food is produced without the use of chemical fertilisers, pesticides or any other artificial chemicals. A number of studies have shown that exposure to these chemicals in high doses, or low does over a long period can have serious detrimental impacts on human health. Find out more here. Yes, MCT Oil can be used for cooking. However, aim to keep the cooking temperature below 320 Fahrenheit / 160 Celsius to ensure all the health benefits are maintained.

Is MCT Oil made from Coconut or Palm Oil?

Our MCT Oil is 100% derived from sustainably sourced organic coconuts and contains absolutely no palm oil. We made this decision for environmental reasons as the rising demand for palm oil is having a devastating impact on the environment.

Does MCT Oil help you get in to Ketosis faster?

Ketosis is a metabolic state in which your body uses primarily fat and ketones for fuel as opposed to carbohydrates. In practical terms, if your blood ketones levels are above 0.5mmol then you can consider yourself in ketosis. MCT Oil is rapidly converted by the body to be used as an instant source of energy or converted in to ketones. Therefore definitely can help you achieve ketosis at a faster rate. However, there’s much more to following a ketogenic diet than just consuming MCT Oil. If you want to find out more, our Keto Transition Guide is a great place to start.

How much MCT Oil should I use?

Consuming too much MCT Oil too quickly can cause gastric upset. Therefore we recommend starting out with 5ml per serving and slowly increasing your intake as tolerance builds.

What are the benefits of MCT Oil?

Brain Power - MCT Oil is quickly turned in to ketones, which can easily cross the blood brain barrier aiding cognition.

Increased Energy - Cultivating the fat burning state of ketosis creates a noticeable impact on energy levels. Instead of the post lunch energy crash a lot of people have grown accustomed to, expect energy to build throughout the day.

Less Cravings - No more snacking will be required to top up carbohydrate levels.

Will MCT Oil break my fast?

It depends. If you’re fasting for weight loss then MCT Oil can be great tool to help curb cravings to your first meal. However, as MCT Oil contains calories it will technically break your fast and mitigate some of the weight loss and autopaghy benefits.

Is MCT Oil good for brain health?

MCT Oil is quickly turned in to ketones which can cross the blood-brain barrier to be used as fuel for your brain. People in ketosis often report high levels of focus and energy.

What’s the difference between C8 & C10 MCTs?

C8 MCTs convert to ketones at a slightly quicker rate than C10 MCTs. However, due to how quickly C8 MCT Oil converts, some people find that taking it in isolation can cause gastric upset. Also, C8 and C10 MCTs have a slightly different micronutrient profile. Therefore we opted for a combination of both to ensure a wider variety of micronutrients and no gastric discomfort when consuming our product.
