Chicken Feet Broth
Posted by Josh Gape onThere are tonnes of different broth and bone broth recipes out there and most of us are familiar with using beef bones BUT, have you ever tried using chicken feet?
Chicken feet make for an incredibly nutrient-dense broth that is really high in collagen and gelatin, whilst also being a good source of folate, calcium and more.
Here's our favourite recipe for chicken feet broth (courtesy of Briar Rose) and you can easily make it your own by mixing up the herbs and spices...
- 1 whole chicken
- 6 or more chicken feet
- 4 carrots, chopped
- 3 onions, chopped
- Potatoes (optional)
- 5-6 garlic cloves
- Pepper (to taste)
- Salt (to taste)
- Pinch of turmeric
- Rosemary or any other herbs you like
Add everything except the whole chicken to the pot and cover with water, bring to the boil then turn down and simmer for 2 hours.
Roast the whole chicken at the same time, then shred and add in.
Serve with rice or on its on as a broth, enjoy!
