Spring Smoothie For Liver Health

This is a simple smoothie with big benefits. As you may have read in our recent blog Top 10 Nutrients To Help You Thrive This Spring, eating seasonally is vital for our wellbeing, and gives us the exact nutrients we need, when we need them. The ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine also tells us to focus on caring for different organs each season, and Spring is all about the liver and gallbladder.This recipe includes foods that support liver and gallbladder health, which naturally aids detoxification. You’ll also be getting plenty of the nutrients we covered in our Spring guide, such as omega 3s, magnesium, quercetin, b vitamins, iodine, and those all-important bitter greens. Our Grass Fed Beef Organ capsules are a key part of what makes this smoothie so beneficial for liver health; for thousands of years, cultures have consumed organ meats to nourish the corresponding organs – using ‘like with like’. Just open the capsules and blend the contents into the smoothie.

 

Ingredients
(serves 1)• 1 apple
• 1 large handful bitter greens (rocket / chard / dandelion greens)
• ½ avocado
• 1 tbsp hemp seeds
• ½ cup milk
• 1-6 capsules Grass Fed Beef Liver

 

Optional add-ins:
• 1 organic free-range egg yolk (the choline in egg yolks is essential for helping the liver metabolise fat)
• 3 scoops Grass Fed Beef Protein
• 2 scoops Grass Fed Collagen
• 2 heaped tsp Grass Fed Colostrum

 

Method
• Add all ingredients to a blender
• Blend until smooth
