Protein Chocolate Chip and Pecan Cookies

Posted by Anna Wechsel on

Protein isn’t just for post-workout and it doesn't need to be boring or just get added to your daily smoothie.

Before we jump into some protein recipe inspo from our friend Neleta Winter, we thought we'd share a few less familiar reasons why protein is so important.

Did you know, we need protein for 👇

🧏♀️Healthy skin

💇Strong hair

😊A happy mood

🙌Balanced hormones

☺️Stable blood sugar

💪 A strong metabolism

🧠 Healthy brain function

Our protein needs also increase as we age, meaning you don’t have to go to the gym to need extra protein…

Stirred into coffee ☕️ blended into a smoothie 🥤 or baked into brownies or cookies, adding protein powder is the tastiest way to increase your protein. If you'd like to learn more about how much protein you should be getting, click here to learn more

Neleta's Protein Chocolate Chip and Pecan Cookies

Ingredients

6 tbsp beef protein powder (unflavoured, vanilla or cacao)
3 tbsp oats
¼ tsp baking powder
¼ cup natural almond butter
2 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp raw milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
a pinch of salt
30g dark chocolate cut into bits
5 toasted pecans

Method

Add the beef protein, oats, and baking powder to a bowl and then your wet ingredients and mix together! Add the chocolate and pecans and stir in!

The mixture is a little sticky so spoon the dough onto a lined baking sheet and using a wet spoon just gently make into a cookie shape

Pop into the oven at 170c for 8 minutes and then allow to cool and enjoy!
