Animal-Based Marshmallows

Posted by Anna Hunt on

A super quick and easy recipe that not only leaves you with a delicious tasty treat BUT is also packed with nutrient-rich gelatine (a great source of collagen and protein). AND it's the perfect family-friendly recipe to hide some extra nutrients in for the kids. The recipe below doesn't include sprinkling capsules in but we've done rigorous testing over here at APE and found that you can easily put 2-3 full liver capsules in without taste detection :)

Ingredients:
Grass-Fed Gelatine Powder
Filtered & Remineralised Water
Organic Maple Syrup
Pinch of Salt

Directions:
1.) In one glass bowl put 3 tablespoons of gelatine powder and add 1/2 a cup of water (do not stir) and let sit for 10 minutes.

2.) In a pot add a 1/2 cup of water and 1 cup of Maple Syrup (you could also add less, we were also happy with just half a cup of maple syrup as well). Bring to a boil and let simmer while gelatine is "blooming" do not let it go about 270 degrees.

3.) Slowly pour the heated mixture into the bowl with gelatine and use a hand mixer (version with 2 beaters) to blend. Blend until fluffy but do not let clump (7-10mins of blending on low speed).

4.) Pour the mixture into a large glass tray and pop it in the fridge.

Let sit (in the fridge) for 1-2 hours and ENJOY!
