An Open Letter to The NHS
Posted by Anna Wechsel onDear NHS,
In the US, politician Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is finally calling out organisations like the CDC, FDA, and WHO for their questionable "health" guidance...
And we think it's about time the UK followed suit.
This isn't about politics.
Whether you're conservative, labour, or anything in between... a healthy nation is something we ALL want.
But here's the painful truth...
While the incredible NHS staff work tirelessly to save lives (and deserve every penny they get)...
The system itself is BROKEN.
Frontline workers are stretched to the brink…
There’s no room in hospital beds…
And you're billions in debt.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Not if you stop being a mouthpiece for outdated advice…
Not if you stop pushing meds and start looking at the root cause of chronic illnesses.
And it all beings with what we put inside our bodies.
Allow us to explain...
We just checked your dietary advice page (last updated Feb 2024)...
Your guidelines tell people to:
👉 "Try to eat less red and processed meat"
👉 "Cut down on saturated fat"
👉 Choose "lean cuts" over nutrient-rich fatty cuts
But here's the truth…
1.) There's NO conclusive evidence linking unprocessed red meat to health problems. Zero. Nada.
2.) The studies demonising saturated fat were flawed from the start (you can thank the sugar industry for this).
3.) Traditionally-raised animal foods are the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet and fundamental for human health (just check the micronutrient content of liver vs any plant food/greens powder or synthetic multi-vitamin).

Sadly, you're lumping processed meat products with nutrient-dense, grass-fed animal foods...
As if a processed hot dog is somehow equivalent to a steak from a pasture raised cow.
This isn't just misleading – it's keeping people from accessing the very nutrients their bodies need to thrive..
The result?
• 26% of UK adults are obese
• 12.2M living with diabetes
• Rising heart disease rates
But here’s what really left us scratching our heads…
And it might get you thinking too.
On the very same website, you have an entire page dedicated to "healthy eating as a vegan" – where you literally list all the nutrients vegans need to supplement:
Vitamin B12
Iron
Vitamin D
Calcium
Selenium
Iodine
Hang on...
Aren't these the EXACT nutrients found abundantly in animal foods that you just said on your other page to AVOID?
You're telling people to avoid nutrient-dense animal foods...
Then telling them to supplement with synthetic versions of those same nutrients?
Can you see the disconnect here?
You even admit that "plant sources of omega-3 fatty acids may not have the same benefits in reducing the risk of heart disease as those in oily fish."
Yet you still recommend people avoid animal products while popping pills and eating fortified processed foods to make up for the nutrients they're missing.
(still want to know why fish always gets a free pass and cows don’t)
Anyway, here’s a radical idea…
Instead of recommending people supplement with synthetic nutrients…
Or tell them to make low-nutrient wholefoods like potatoes, rice and veggies the bulk of their diet…
Why not just tell them to eat the natural, bioavailable sources of these nutrients that humans evolved consuming?
Because until you do you part and call out how flawed, biased and corrupt mainstream nutritional advice is…
And look BEYOND the Western medicine model that got us into this mess…
This is only going to get worse.
Till then, you have no business calling yourself a “health service” .
So we're asking you, sincerely, re-evaluate your position:
Why are you still bent on demonizing foods that humans have thrived on for millions of years?
Why ignore the crucial difference between processed meat products and real animal foods?
Because until these guidelines reflect the truth...
People are going to take their health into their own hands and continue to lose faith in you.
That's why we created our grass-fed organ supplements – to give people access to the most nutrient-dense foods on Earth.
Foods we evolved eating.
Foods packed with bioavailable nutrients.
Foods that actually support health instead of harming it.
We're not asking for an overnight revolution.
Just an honest look at the evidence around animal foods and human health.
Because the British people deserve better than outdated fears about meat and saturated fat.
With deep concern,
The APE Team
