CBD Explained

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a compound that occurs naturally in both the hemp plant and humans.

CBD Explained

As humans we also contain what’s known as the Endocannabinoid System (ECS), a vast network of receptors, that play an important role in helping us maintain
homeostasis. Basically, this system affects many of our biological processes to aid us in staying balanced regardless of what life throws at us. For example, it plays a key role in regulating a number of bodily functions, such as; sleep, mood and appetite.

The ECS contains cannabinoid receptors, which bind with Endocannabinoids
(cannabinoids that are naturally produced by the body) to help us maintain this state of equilibrium.

The ECS is responsible for maintaining a number of physiological functions, including:

  • Mood

  • Sleep

  • Energy

  • Inflammation

  • Pain

  • Appetite

  • Metabolism

  • Stress Response

  • Cognition

  • Memory

  • Visceral sensation

  • Motivation

  • Hormone regulation

We can aid our body in achieving this stability by taking Phytocannabinoids (the
cannabinoids found in the hemp plant, which we use to create our tinctures). These exogenous (external) compounds work synergistically with our naturally occurring cannabinoids to increase ECS function.

FAQs Questions

Do you lab test your finished products?

Of course - the CBD industry is full of companies selling products where there’s a discrepancy between with what’s on the bottle and in the bottle. That’s why we lab test every batch of our CBD tinctures to ensure the levels of CBD the same as what is stated on the bottle and the level of THC is well below the legal limit.

What will it feel like when I take CBD oil?

In a nutshell the answer is, it depends. Everyone is different and has different needs. The Endocannabinoid System interacts with a vast array of different biological process to help the body stay in balance. Therefore, the effects are personalised based on your internal requirements. This said, the most common feedback we get is that it makes people feel relaxed. The best way to find out how CBD will impact you, is to try it for yourself!

Will CBD get me high?

No. We extract our CBD from the hemp plant as opposed to the marijuana plant. Hemp is naturally much higher in CBD and lower in THC, the compound known for making people high. We then use the cleanest C02 extraction process available to isolate the CBD and distill it from the plant.

Finally, we have every batch of finished CBD tinctures tested by a third party laboratory to ensure that the THC level is well below the legal limit and that the CBD level is what we’re stating on the bottle. Our latest set of lab reports demonstrated that both our 5% and 10% CBD tinctures had below 0.005% total THC. Therefore under CBD regulation in the UK, our CBD is classified as a ‘No THC’ product as the level of THC is below 0.01%. The legal limit in the UK is 0.02%.

What’s the difference between hemp and CBD oil?

Hemp oil is derived from hemp seeds and does not contain CBD. However, CBD oil does contain CBD and sometimes also contains hemp oil. The confusion here is often as a result of CBD being mixed with hemp oil to create CBD tinctures. For example, you’ll notice that our bottles are labeled 5% and 10% Organic CBD Oils. This means 5% or 10% of the tincture is CBD and the other 95% or 90% is hemp oil.

Is CBD legal in the UK?

For CBD Oil to be legal in the UK, it must be extracted from the Hemp plant and contain less than 0.2% THC. We have a third party laboratory analyse every batch of our CBD to ensure the THC is well below this level (our latest batch test for both our 5% and 10% tinctures showed that they had below 0.005% THC.

What’s the difference between 5% and 10% CBD oil?

The percentage refers to how concentrated the oil is. For example our 5% CBD oil contains 500mg of CBD mixed with hemp oil, with the bottle’s overall volume being 10ml. Whereas the 10% has 1000mg of CBD in the same volume bottle. Therefore effectively you’re getting the same product at a better price if you opt for the 10%.

How long will my CBD tincture last?

This all depends on dosage. However, if you go for our mid-line recommendation of 4 drops twice daily, one bottle will last 25 days.
